Do I need a digital certificate?

No. You do not need to buy or set up a digital certificate to file e-invoices with envoice.

Why not

envoice submits through LHDN's MyInvois v1.0 API, which accepts unsigned documents. LHDN's newer signed format (v1.1) needs a signing certificate, but envoice does not use it. This applies to the LHDN test system and to production alike.

What you do need

  1. An ERP registration for envoice in MyInvois, inside MyTax.
  2. The Client ID and Client Secret from that registration.
  3. Those two values entered in envoice under Settings, then the LHDN tab.

That is all. envoice takes care of building and submitting each document.
