Can I file an invoice that is more than 72 hours old?

Yes. LHDN rejects any e-invoice whose issue date is more than 72 hours before it is submitted. envoice avoids this by filing every document with the date and time it is actually submitted.

What this means

  • You can enter a sale from last week, or last month, and file it today.
  • The e-invoice carries today's issue date.
  • For walk-in sales, envoice still pools each sale into the consolidated e-invoice for the month it happened.

Do not confuse the two 72-hour rules

There are two different 72-hour windows:

  1. The issue date rule. An e-invoice cannot be submitted with an issue date more than 72 hours old. envoice handles this for you.
  2. The cancellation rule. You can only cancel a validated e-invoice within 72 hours of validation. After that you issue a credit, debit or refund note. See Cancelling and correcting e-invoices.
