LHDN error ERR250 and ERR245: consolidated e-invoice carries a real buyer

Updated 18 October 2026

Short answer

ERR250 and ERR245 mean a consolidated e-invoice carries a real buyer's identity. A consolidated e-invoice must use the general public TIN EI00000000010 with the ID type and number set to NA. Change the buyer to those values and submit again, and issue any named buyer's sale as its own e-invoice.

LHDN also reports this rejection as ERR245. The cause and the fix are the same.

What LHDN's message says

LHDN's validator error reference does not list ERR250 and ERR245 yet, so this page is based on envoice's catalogue of real rejections and on LHDN's guidelines.

What it means

A consolidated e-invoice groups sales where the buyers did not ask for an e-invoice, so it has no single real buyer. LHDN expects the general public TIN EI00000000010 on it, with the ID type and number set to NA. LHDN lists the general TINs in Appendix 1 of its e-Invoice Specific Guideline.

Why it happens

The rejection happens when a consolidated document is built with a real customer's TIN or ID, for example when the shop's own details or a regular customer's details are filled in as the buyer.

How to fix it

  1. Set the buyer on the consolidated e-invoice to the general public TIN EI00000000010.
  2. Set the buyer ID type and ID number to NA.
  3. Take any sale whose buyer gave their details out of the batch and issue it as an individual e-invoice.
  4. Submit the corrected consolidated e-invoice.

How envoice handles it

When LHDN rejects a document, envoice shows a Rejection reason box on it. Each line names the field at fault, explains the cause in plain language, gives the fix where envoice knows it, and quotes LHDN's own sentence with a link to LHDN's guidance for that code. The explanation is shown in English or Bahasa Melayu.

For this code, envoice's rejection reason reads: A consolidated e-Invoice carries a real buyer identity. Consolidated documents must use the general public TIN. Set the buyer to the general TIN EI00000000010 with ID type and number NA, then resubmit.

envoice's Consolidated page files the month's pending walk-in sales with the general public TIN and classification 004 for you.

Click Fix & resubmit to open the invoice form prefilled from the rejected document, correct the field, and submit it as a new e-invoice. The shop owner also gets one email when a document is rejected, so a rejection is not discovered weeks later. See Why was my document rejected?

ERR250 and ERR245 mean a consolidated e-invoice carries a real buyer's identity. A consolidated e-invoice must use the general public TIN EI00000000010 with the ID type and number set to NA. Change the buyer to those values and submit again, and issue any named buyer's sale as its own e-invoice.
