Rejected: classification or tax code

Each line item carries LHDN codes: a classification code, sometimes a tariff code, a unit of measurement and a tax type. If LHDN rejects one of them, the rejection names the line.

What you see

The Rejection reason box names the line, for example "Line item 2 classification code", and one of these messages:

Message in envoice What it means
"LHDN rejected a code on a line item: its classification code or its tariff code." A classification or tariff code is not valid for this document.
"A line uses a unit of measurement that is not on LHDN's list." (CV302) The unit code does not exist in LHDN's code table.
"A tax-exempt (E) line has no exemption reason." You marked a line tax exempt but gave no reason.
"A tax detail was rejected (tax type, rate or SST registration)." The tax type, rate or your SST or tourism tax registration was refused.
"This is a walk-in (general public) sale, but a line carries a classification code other than 004." (ERR236) General Public sales only accept code 004.

How to fix it

  1. Note which line the rejection names.
  2. Click Fix & resubmit. The form opens prefilled.
  3. Fix the line:
    • Classification: pick a code from the classification picker. You can search by words, such as "repair" or "rental", not just the three digits. If nothing specific fits, 022 (Others) is the general fallback.
    • Unit: choose a unit from the list, for example H87 for piece.
    • Tax exempt (E): add the exemption reason on the item, or set a default in shop settings.
    • SST: check the line tax type, and your SST or tourism tax registration in shop settings.
  4. Submit.

Stop it happening again

If the line came from your catalog, fix the product in Catalog too. Otherwise the next invoice will carry the same wrong code. See Keep your catalog classification codes right.

Do not put 004 on a product. envoice applies 004 by itself when it files a walk-in sale in the consolidated e-invoice, and keeps your product's own code for when a buyer asks for an individual e-invoice.
