How to do LHDN e-invoice for Shopify (Malaysia)

Short answer

Shopify does not submit e-invoices to LHDN MyInvois on its own. The practical way is to connect an app that files each Shopify order to MyInvois automatically, validates it, and handles consolidated B2C sales, so you keep Shopify and never touch the LHDN portal by hand.

Does Shopify support MyInvois natively?

No. Shopify is a global platform and does not connect to Malaysia's MyInvois system out of the box. Your orders are not sent to LHDN, and Shopify's built-in "invoice" is a receipt, not a validated LHDN e-invoice. To comply, you need something that bridges Shopify to MyInvois.

  4. LHDN validates and returns a QR code. A buyer-ready PDF is generated automatically.
  5. Walk-in and no-TIN orders are grouped into a consolidated monthly e-invoice instead of one per sale.
Most Shopify sales are B2C, where the buyer does not need an individual e-invoice. Those are accumulated and filed as a single consolidated e-invoice at month-end, so you are not submitting thousands of documents. If a business buyer needs a full e-invoice with their TIN, that one is issued individually.

Do I have to replace Shopify?

No. The connector runs alongside Shopify. Your storefront, checkout, and workflow stay exactly the same; the only change is that compliant e-invoices now reach LHDN in the background.
