e-Invoice for POS systems and Loyverse: keep your POS
Updated 18 October 2026
Short answer
You do not need to replace your POS. It keeps printing normal receipts, and an e-invoice tool takes the sales to LHDN MyInvois: walk-in sales go into the monthly consolidated e-invoice, and buyers who give a TIN get an individual e-invoice. envoice connects to Loyverse POS directly, and takes sales from other POS systems through a CSV export or its API.
Your POS stays, your receipts stay
A POS receipt is not an e-invoice and is not sent to LHDN on its own. That is fine for most retail sales: LHDN lets you combine sales to buyers who do not ask for an e-invoice into one consolidated e-invoice each month. What you need is a way to get the POS sales into MyInvois without retyping them.
Four ways POS sales reach MyInvois
| Route | Best for | envoice plan |
|---|---|---|
| A direct connection to the POS | Loyverse POS | Every plan |
| CSV export from the POS, uploaded in bulk | Any POS that exports sales | Starter (RM35/month) and up |
| API from your own system or POS | Custom or in-house POS | Pro (RM90/month) and Enterprise |
| Typing the sale into the invoice form | A few sales a day | Every plan |
The Free plan covers 50 documents a month; Starter covers 500 and Pro 3,000. Plan limits apply to documents from every connection together. See pricing.
How envoice connects to Loyverse
You connect from inside envoice: open Settings > Integrations, click Connect Loyverse, sign in to Loyverse and click Allow. One envoice shop connects to one Loyverse account. After that you keep selling in Loyverse as usual.
- Walk-in sales (no buyer TIN, RM10,000 or less) are recorded for the monthly consolidated e-invoice, which envoice files at the start of the next month. Nothing is sent to LHDN per receipt.
- Business buyers get their own e-invoice. Loyverse has no TIN field, so you type the buyer's TIN in their Loyverse customer record, in Customer code or Note, with their BRN after it.
- Receipts above RM10,000 always file as their own e-invoice, as LHDN requires.
- Refunds become credit notes, on every plan including Free. A refund of a walk-in sale in the same month is simply taken off before the consolidated e-invoice is filed.
- Taxes: you match each Loyverse tax to service tax, sales tax, tourism tax, or a service charge that is not a tax.
- Each document keeps the Loyverse receipt number, so you can match it to the receipt in Loyverse.
Buyers who want their own e-invoice
A walk-in buyer can still get an e-invoice in their own name. Switch on envoice's request portal and add its QR code to your receipt template or counter: the buyer enters the receipt details and their TIN, and envoice takes that sale out of the consolidated e-invoice so it is not reported twice. See how buyers request an e-invoice.
Before anything reaches LHDN
The envoice shop needs its own LHDN MyInvois Client ID and Client Secret. New shops start on an internal test mock, so you can try the whole flow first. See how to get your MyInvois credentials.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a new POS for LHDN e-invoicing?
No. Your POS keeps issuing normal receipts. An e-invoice tool takes the sales to LHDN MyInvois, either through a direct connection, a CSV export or an API.
Does envoice work with Loyverse?
Yes. envoice connects to Loyverse POS from Settings, Integrations in envoice. Walk-in receipts go into the monthly consolidated e-invoice, business buyers with a TIN get their own e-invoice, and refunds become credit notes.
Where do I put the buyer's TIN in Loyverse?
In the Loyverse customer record, in Customer code or Note, whichever you choose in envoice. Add the buyer's business registration number after the TIN, separated by a space.
My POS has no direct connection. What can I use?
Export the sales as a CSV file and upload them in bulk (Starter and up), connect your own system through the API (Pro and Enterprise), or type the sales into the invoice form.
Is every POS receipt sent to LHDN?
No. Walk-in sales of RM10,000 or less, where the buyer does not ask for an e-invoice, are combined into one consolidated e-invoice per month. Only individual e-invoices are filed sale by sale.
